As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I earned my master's degree in Clinical & School Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and my Post-Master's Certificate from Butler University. I enjoy working with adults in areas of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life adjustments, stress, relationship difficulties, sexual orientation/identity, parenting struggles, self-esteem, and grief and loss.
Prior to private practice, I worked in schools and community mental health settings utilizing a variety of approaches and focusing on client-centered and strength-based treatments. Tailoring to the needs of each client, I incorporate DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) skills. Areas of focus include unhealthy thinking patterns, mindfulness, emotion regulation, effective communication, and distress tolerance.
I employ a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment, allowing clients to process their thoughts and feelings to attain their individual goals.
Some of my interests are traveling, exercising (pilates), reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family.
